<p>Kate Dougherty is a Chicago, Ill., based photographer who specializes
in news photography and weddings. She has worked for newspapers
for the past four years before embarking on her career as a freelance
photographer. Kate has been published in the Chicago Tribune's
RedEye Magazine, 22nd Century Media, the Aurora Beacon News and
Sun Times Media Group since her position as a staff photographer
with GateHouse Media Chicago Suburban Newspapers, and, before
that, the Decatur Herald & Review. </p>
<p>Her interest in photojournalism began in high school, when she
was influenced by her hometown paper, the Aurora Beacon News.
She went on to obtain her B.S. in journalism from the University
of Illinois, and interned at both the Daily Herald and the Daily
Journal. Kate continues to this day to do what she loves.</p>
